AXIS Capital is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer to design, build and operate cloud-native AI workloads across Azure and Databricks. This role combines platform engineering, DevOps, data engineering and applied AI to productionise services securely and reliably.

You will own end-to-end delivery, mentoring engineers, and shaping reusable patterns while collaborating across underwriting, claims and operations teams to deliver enterprise-grade AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong production-level Python engineering experience with maintainable, tested services.
• Experience with PySpark or equivalent large-scale data processing frameworks.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tooling.
• Experience deploying workloads on Azure including identity, access control, networking and secure configuration.
• Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code, preferably Terraform.
• Experience building APIs, backend services, and integrations for data/AI workloads.
• Experience monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response for production systems.
• Strong engineering discipline across testing, code quality, branching, release management and automated validation.
• Ability to troubleshoot across application, data, infrastructure, deployment and security boundaries.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and operate production-grade AI services, data pipelines, and platform capabilities on Azure and Databricks.
• Develop LLM-powered and agentic workflows for process automation and decision support.
• Expose AI capabilities via secure APIs and Azure Functions/Container Apps backends (e.g., FastAPI).
• Own CI/CD delivery pipelines for AI and data workloads from build to environment promotion.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Azure tooling for repeatable, secure environments.
• Build and manage Databricks jobs, workflows, and data engineering pipelines.
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting with OpenTelemetry or equivalent tools.
• Support production AI systems including incident response and operational runbooks.
