Job summary

The Francis Crick Institute is seeking a Senior AI/ML Bioinformatician to join the Bioinformatics & Biostatistics Platform. You will collaborate with leading scientists to analyse complex omics, imaging and clinical datasets and turn data into meaningful biological insights to improve human health.

You will design analyses, develop bespoke pipelines, and mentor colleagues while contributing to publications in a highly collaborative, technology-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Degree with extensive analytical component in bioinformatics, statistics, molecular biology or mathematics.
• Significant experience with varied biomedical data and analyses.
• Extensive experience applying AI/ML bioinformatics to multiple projects in a research environment.
• Experience in Agentic AI and LLM applied to biomedical research.
• Proven ability to write clean, documented code in Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Provide AI/ML expertise to Francis Crick scientists to achieve research objectives.
• Analyse complex biomedical data using omics, imaging and clinical datasets.
• Develop bespoke analysis pipelines and tools for complex questions.
• Mentor team members and collaborate with biologists to enable specialised analyses.
• Contribute to project planning, reporting, and dissemination of findings.
