Job summary

Sports Interactive in London is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Match AI & Simulation) to join the Match AI team. You will enhance the match engine, refactor AI systems, and build debugging tools to help designers and engineers iterate rapidly.

The role requires strong C++, hands-on game AI experience, and collaboration with multiple disciplines. Hybrid work 2–3 days in-office at Here East in London, with passion for football.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of C++, design patterns and software engineering.
• Professional experience designing and developing game AI systems and simulation paradigms.
• Hands-on work with behaviour trees, finite state machines, utility-based systems or similar techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop, extend, improve, and maintain the match simulation codebase, workflows, and tools.
• Design and implement game AI systems for match agents, including decision-making and tactical behaviours.
• Refactor AI-driven systems into modern architectures; build debugging and visualisation tools.
• Collaborate with designers, QA, producers, and other engineering teams on development and future planning.
• Work with seniors/leads to drive new features and set the long-term roadmap.
