Job summary

Ecotricity, the UK’s first true green energy provider, is seeking a Senior Engineer to build AI-enabled data products on AWS and Databricks. You will prototype with Claude and Codex, define measurable outcomes with stakeholders, and deliver secure, scalable backend services and APIs.

You will focus on end-to-end product delivery—from discovery through deployment to operation—while applying strong software engineering practices and responsible AI controls. A hybrid working setup is available.

Qualifications

• Experience building production AI-enabled software or data products.
• Strong Python and API design experience.
• Practical Databricks and AWS deployment knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own AI-enabled data product design, deployment and operation.
• Define user problems, outcomes and data needs with stakeholders.
• Prototype with Claude, Codex and AI tooling; turn into secure software.
• Build pipelines, APIs and back-end services, with front-end where needed.
• Apply software engineering practices: testing, CI/CD, docs and IaC.
• Establish observability, data quality, model and service reliability.
• Ensure security, privacy and responsible AI controls throughout lifecycle.
• Operate and support live services and reduce technical debt.
