Job summary

Ecotricity is seeking a hands-on Senior Engineer to design and build AI-enabled data products on AWS and Databricks, spanning discovery to deployment and live service operation.

You will prototype with Claude and Codex, turn concepts into secure software, and collaborate with stakeholders to define measurable outcomes. The role emphasizes secure, scalable solutions and responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating production AI-enabled software and data products.
• Strong Python skills and API design experience.
• Practical experience with Databricks and AWS deployments.
• Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation, tool usage and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build, deployment and operation of AI-enabled data products on AWS/Databricks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define problems, outcomes and data needs.
• Prototype with Claude, Codex and other AI tools and ship secure software.
• Build APIs, back-end services and front-end interfaces as needed.
• Apply solid software engineering practices: tests, CI/CD, version control, docs.
• Establish observability for data quality, model behavior, reliability and cost.
• Protect data privacy and apply governance and responsible AI controls.
• Operate and support live services and reduce technical debt.
