Job summary

Chubb is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, develop and deploy generative AI solutions across underwriting, claims, and customer service. The role sits at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI, building production-ready systems on our Azure and Databricks platform.

You will mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and drive architecture decisions to scale AI capabilities across the insurance lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong system design fundamentals.
• Proven production-grade AI/ML software experience.
• Strong Python production backend experience.
• Hands-on with LLMs (Azure OpenAI/OpenAI/Anthropic).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end generative AI applications (LangGraph, agentic workflows, RAG).
• Define scalable, secure architecture for production AI solutions.
• Develop robust backend APIs (FastAPI) with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Architect search/retrieval using Azure OpenAI, MongoDB; design indexing strategies.
• Collaborate with PMs, data scientists, and engineers to deliver AI features.
• Own full software lifecycle: design, review, test, deploy, monitor, support.
• Translate business needs into reliable technical solutions with strong reliability focus.
• Mentor junior engineers through design/code reviews.
