Job description

What’s the role

As the Senior AI/ML Engineer, you will be responsible for initiating, development and deployment of data science solutions/products in an agile fashion to meet demand across multiple business lines. In addition, you will also be accountable for adhering to Shell quality standards for producing digital solutions.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities include:

  • Work within the Data Science and ML team to deploy models to production, using existing and emerging methods and technologies that could be effectively applied to Shell use cases

  • Build core infrastructure around feature engineering, model training, model deployment, ongoing monitoring tools, and much more

  • Work closely with Infrastructure, data engineering and DevOp teams to increase our deployment velocity, including the process for deploying models and data pipelines into production

  • Work closely with Product Management to translate product requirements into robust, customer-agnostic machine learning architectures

  • Keep abreast of new engineering practices, technologies and continuously improving our Agile practices and building and strengthening relationships and alliances in academia, IDT and industry

  • Contribute to community building initiatives like CoE, CoP

What you bring

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in one of the following fields: Engineering, Statistics, Machine Learning, or related disciplines with minimum of 10 years related experience

  • Solid experience in System design of Large Machine Learning Applications

  • Demonstrated expertise in development across a wide range of , frameworks, and tools, including Python, R, Java, JavaScript/JVM, Scala, Reactive Streams, and Kafka, with a preference for Python

  • Experience in designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring machine learning and deep learning solutions

  • Proven experience in cloud Application Development using AWS or Azure

  • Proven experience implementing, Improving, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipeline

  • Good experience in applying ML algorithms, Optimization, and technologies to time series forecasting

  • Good experience in Bash\Powershell Scripting and Linux Operating system and networking fundamentals

  • Strong communication skills, especially explaining technical concepts to businesspeople & to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team

  • Strong desire to stay ahead of industry trends & technologies with a commitment to continuous learning

  • Experience working in small, empowered, delivery focused, cross-functional and collaborating teams

  • Experience of working in a virtual team and with virtual stakeholders
