Job summary

Bally’s Intralot is seeking a senior AI/ML-focused software engineer to transform validated R&D concepts into production-ready features powering personalised player experiences across iGaming platforms.

You’ll work alongside AI researchers and engineers to build real-time, low-latency systems, with strong ownership over design, delivery, and production discipline in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience with TypeScript and Python
• Proven track record delivering AI, ML or data-driven features into production
• Hands-on experience building cloud-native apps on AWS
• Experience with real-time, low-latency systems and scalable architectures
• Experience evaluating AI model performance using data-driven methods

Responsibilities

• Turn prototypes from R&D into production systems that are tested, observable and maintainable
• Build and operate real-time personalization, recommendation, search and ranking systems
• Maintain high engineering standards: CI/CD, infrastructure as code and observability
• Collaborate with R&D, product managers, data analysts and Staff Engineers to bridge experiment and production

You’ll be part of the team responsible for bringing AI innovation into the hands of millions of players. Working alongside AI researchers and experienced engineers, you’ll transform proven concepts into high-quality, production-ready features that power personalised player experiences.

From recommendation systems and intelligent search to AI agents and dynamic content discovery, you’ll build and scale the technology that sits behind our products. This is a senior, hands on role with genuine ownership you’ll influence how solutions are designed, built and delivered while working in a collaborative team that’s passionate about solving complex engineering challenges with AI.

So, what will you be doing?

• Take prototypes and validated concepts from R&D and turn them into production systems: hardened, tested, observable, and maintainable.
• Build and operate real-time personalisation, recommendation, search and ranking systems against live traffic and within real latency budgets.
• Hold a high engineering bar on AWS and TypeScript: clean CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and testing.
• Work closely with R&D engineers, product managers, data analysts and Staff Engineers, bridging fast experimental work and production discipline.

Requirements

And what will you need?

• Significant commercial software engineering experience (typically 5+ years) with strong expertise in TypeScript and working knowledge of Python.
• Proven experience delivering AI, machine learning or data-driven features into production, such as recommendation engines, search, ranking systems or LLM-powered applications.
• Hands‑on experience building and operating cloud‑native applications on AWS, with a solid understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure as code and production monitoring.
• Experience developing and supporting high-performance, real-time systems with a focus on scalability, reliability and low latency.
• Experience measuring and evaluating AI model performance, using data and experimentation to drive continuous improvement.

Skills & Behaviours:

• A hands‑on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and delivering high-quality, production‑ready solutions.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering best practices, with a focus on clean, maintainable and well‑tested code.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment alongside engineers, product teams and AI researchers.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, curious and continuously looking for opportunities to improve products, processes and the way AI solutions are delivered.
