We are seeking an innovative AI Engineer to join a brand new team focused on providing innovative productivity improvements to the suite of tools and processes used by our large user base of developers, utilizing the latest Gen AI tooling and prompt engineering.

This dedicated team is focused on driving the everything-as-code agenda and delivering tangible reductions in process friction, errors, and manual effort. In this role, you will be responsible for driving and contributing to the technical direction of our products and services, instilling engineering best practices into the team, and promoting cultural change across the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Understand the landscape, tooling, and procedures used by developers at Citi and identify opportunities to reduce toil and simplify workflows using Gen AI solutions.
2. Apply classic AI and novel Gen AI evaluation methodologies to enhance the quality and reliability of delivered software, while managing and mitigating field-specific risks.
3. Advise on evaluation metrics, devise and implement quantitative testing plans, and help evolve existing AI evaluation approaches.
4. Collaborate with Citi technology teams to promote everything-as-code and a controlled environment.
5. Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable web applications and services in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
6. Be hands-on with coding and software design to ensure high quality standards and best practices.
7. Mentor and support other engineers to grow their skills and expertise.
8. Support cultural change initiatives, fostering critical thinking about controls and processes, and encouraging continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an AI Engineer with a significant delivery record.
• Strong expertise in multiple programming languages and frameworks.
• Experience with quantitative testing practices in AI/ML for actionable Go/No-Go decisions regarding software deployment.
• Experience developing on architectures including container-based microservices, focusing on scalability, reliability, and high performance.
• Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Couchbase, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A growth mindset with willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
• Passion for site reliability engineering and its impact on product development.
• Connected to the latest technologies like Generative AI and eager to apply them practically.
