Job summary

Project Freelance in London is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead full-stack AI-powered product features and own AI strategy in a fast-growing start-up environment. This on-site role focuses on developing cutting-edge AI systems for financial crime prevention with significant ownership and influence.

You will work across frontend, backend, AI, and infrastructure, collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions and innovative compliance tooling.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a full-stack or product engineering role.
• Strong TypeScript, React, and Node.js development skills.
• Experience with AI/ML systems, prompt engineering, and model fine-tuning.
• Knowledge of computer vision and custom model training.
• Proactive, commercially minded, and ownership-driven.

Responsibilities

Are you a full-stack engineer with AI and machine learning expertise looking to play a leading role in developing cutting-edge AI systems that are transforming financial crime prevention while enjoying significant ownership and influence within a fast-growing start-up environment?

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative AI company developing next-generation technology to automate complex compliance and financial crime investigations. Working at the forefront of AI, machine learning, and enterprise software, you will help build solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making for financial institutions around the world.

In this role, you will design and develop full-stack features across front-end, back-end, AI, and infrastructure environments. You will work on advanced applications including document fraud detection, web due diligence, prompt optimisation, AI evaluation frameworks, model fine-tuning, and custom machine learning solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in full-stack product engineering, hands-on exposure to modern AI technologies, and a passion for solving real-world problems through technology.
