Job summary

Dex is partnering with a trusted healthcare/fintech company to build an AI-driven care orchestration platform. You will design scalable state machines, real-time underwriting, and production workflows across diverse systems.

You bring 5+ years in backend or full-stack roles at startups, strong Python, and experience with HIPAA/SOC 2/PCI. Proficiency with AI tooling like Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack or backend-focused engineering in fast-moving startups.
• Strong Python proficiency with experience designing state machines and async workflows.
• AI-augmented engineering using tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
• Experience operating within strict safety/compliance boundaries (HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI).
• Pragmatic shipping bias; prefer simple, resilient architectures and independent problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale the core orchestration framework with state machines for care navigation, underwriting, and clinic ops across external systems.
• Build and harden the real-time underwriting engine modeling medical outcomes and pricing risk.
• Deploy autonomous, AI-powered operational agents that execute production workflows.
• Bridge legacy clinical records, lending, and insurance rails under HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance.
• Translate ambiguous business and clinical requirements into production-ready solutions.
