Job summary

Escape Velocity Entertainment is seeking a Senior AI Designer to join our fully remote team. You will create intelligent enemies and shape NPC behavior using blueprint scripting and AI trees in Unreal Engine.

You will collaborate with designers and engineers, analyze user data and heatmaps, and pitch detailed AI designs to leads. 5+ years in game design or AI development and a passion for competitive multiplayer games are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional game design or AI game development experience.
• Senior-level proficiency in blueprint scripting and AI behaviour trees.
• Technical expertise in Unreal and/or equivalent AAA game engines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Professional understanding of competitive multiplayer games and NPC usage.

Responsibilities

• Create exciting new enemies for a high-mobility action game.
• Create design specs and technical documents.
• Work with designers and engineers on NPC creation, scripting, and behaviour trees.
• Collaborate with producers to plan future work and identify dependencies.
• Analyze user data, feedback, and heatmaps to understand AI performance and drive changes.
• Pitch detailed new AI designs to leads and directors.
