Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a Forward Deployed Lead / Principal Engineer (Band 9) with an AI & Agentic Engineering focus to own the technical direction and delivery of major enterprise AI programs, architecting agentic systems and generative AI apps for production in collaboration with platform engineering.

You will align target-state AI architectures with enterprise goals, guide the team's technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive governance, observability, and MLOps across deployments while

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in software or solution engineering with AI deployments.
• Strong Python (FastAPI) and SDLC practices (design, testing, CI/CD).
• Hands-on with agentic AI frameworks and MCP.
• Experience building RAG/LLM pipelines and vector databases.
• Experience with Postgres/Neo4j for data modelling.
• Familiar with AI coding copilots (Claude, Codex, Cursor).
• Strong stakeholder communication translating AI to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic AI applications and multi-agent workflows for enterprise use cases.
• Build RAG pipelines and integrate LLM APIs, vector databases and MCP tooling.
• Process unstructured data into condensed, structured knowledge (ontology extraction).
• Write production-grade Python services (FastAPI) with CI/CD and testing.
• Collaborate with platform engineering on deployment, hosting, and MLOps.
• Define AI governance and guardrails: data privacy, policy enforcement.
• Instrument AI apps for observability (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus).
• Translate enterprise requirements into AI solution roadmaps for senior stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and codify reusable agentic patterns.
• Provide architectural oversight across multi-disciplinary workstreams.
