Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a Forward Deployed Lead / Principal Engineer (FDE) with a Platform Engineering focus. You will own architectural direction for major digital transformations, aligning target-state cloud architectures with enterprise goals while working closely with AI engineers.

You will guide security, IaC, and automation, building scalable platforms across Azure, AWS, and GCP, and mentoring engineers to deliver complex engagements.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in enterprise or platform architecture.
• Hands-on Azure, GCP and AWS with landing zones, networking and IAM.
• Kubernetes, GitOps (ArgoCD), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm).
• End-to-end security in CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes environments.
• SSL/TLS management, DNS, and secure network access to endpoints.
• CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and microservices/API architectures.
• Observability stacks: Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with generative AI platforms: LLM hosting and gateways.
• Strong stakeholder communication translating architecture to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build target-state cloud platforms across Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Establish enterprise container platforms (Kubernetes) and GitOps (ArgoCD).
• Develop self-service developer frameworks and landing zones with Terraform & Helm.
• Architect platforms hosting generative AI systems (LLM hosting/gateways).
• Guide legacy modernization, microservices migrations, and API integrations.
• Implement security end-to-end across CI/CD pipelines and platforms.
• Own connectivity and network security, DNS zone and certificate management.
• Define standards and guardrails, including policy-as-code and OPA.
• Instrument platforms for observability and drive multi-disciplinary oversight.
