About the Role

Our client, a cutting-edge aerospace technology firm, is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer to contribute to innovative projects from their Randburg, Gauteng location. This role focuses on the design, integration, testing, and validation of complex aerospace systems. You will play a key part in shaping the future of aerospace technology, working on challenging and intellectually stimulating projects. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for significant on-site collaboration with engineering teams and project leaders, alongside remote flexibility for independent work and analysis. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record in systems engineering within the aerospace domain, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for pushing technological boundaries. Key Responsibilities

Lead the system engineering lifecycle for aerospace projects, from concept development to final validation. Define system requirements, architecture, and design specifications for complex aerospace systems. Oversee the integration of various subsystems and components, ensuring seamless functionality. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures for system validation. Analyze system performance data and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and software development. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex engineering challenges. Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and presentations. Contribute to the identification and mitigation of technical risks throughout the project lifecycle. Stay abreast of advancements in aerospace technology and recommend innovative solutions. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Master's or Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in aerospace systems engineering. Proven expertise in systems design, integration, testing, and validation for aerospace applications. Strong understanding of control systems, avionics, propulsion systems, or related aerospace domains. Proficiency with systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., MBSE, SysML). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience mentoring engineering teams. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, both on-site and remotely. Experience with simulation and modeling tools is highly desirable. Must be eligible to work in South Africa and undergo security clearances.
