Job summary

Senior Production Manager based in Birmingham will lead the day-to-day production and supplier integration for the aircraft assembly line on behalf of our Aerospace clients.

You will ensure safe, high-quality and on-time delivery through effective execution of the statement of work, supplier management, resource allocation and continuous improvement, across aircraft build, modification, certification and release to flight.

Qualifications

• Proven senior production or operations leadership in aircraft manufacturing, MRO or modification environments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and integrating external suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, shop-floor control, modification processes and airworthiness certification.
• Experience leading technical approvals and process audits.
• Experience managing suppliers and enforcing contractual, quality and delivery requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills for senior leadership reports.
• Lean or Six Sigma experience is desirable.
• Willingness to work across locations and shifts as production requires.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the assembly statement of work with focus on safety, quality and schedule.
• Integrate and manage production and modification suppliers with technical oversight.
• Coordinate daily work plans with Industrial Engineering and modification leadership.
• Secure and allocate people, tooling and materials per production priorities.
• Provide technical leadership and approve approaches, resolving complex production issues.
• Monitor production and supplier activity and address risks to timely delivery.
• Audit build activity for compliance with Ground Operating Procedures and PRO-9 requirements.
• Oversee final component installation, systems operation, testing, certification and release to flight.
• Provide updates on progress, risks and mitigation plans to programme teams and executives.
• Build relationships with suppliers, customers and stakeholders; mentor teams.
• Lead and coach problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.
• Develop and implement plans, policies and strategies supporting production performance.
• Set and maintain delivery priorities and communicate status across functions.
• Champion Lean and Six Sigma to improve productivity and quality.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, quality and airworthiness standards.
