Job summary

Manpower UK, on behalf of our client, seeks a Senior Manager - Manufacturing & Operations to lead the E-7 aircraft assembly at the Birmingham Airport site. You will drive day-to-day production, supplier integration, and ensure safe, on-time delivery of aircraft.

The role demands extensive senior leadership in aircraft manufacturing or MRO, strong cross-functional collaboration with suppliers and programme teams, and robust knowledge of production planning, airworthiness, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Extensive senior production or operations leadership experience in aircraft manufacturing, MRO, or modification environments.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and integrate external suppliers.
• Strong working knowledge of production planning, shop-floor control, aircraft modification processes and airworthiness certification.
• Experience managing suppliers and enforcing contractual, quality and delivery requirements.
• A degree in aerospace engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
• Knowledge of EASA Part-66 or relevant maintenance engineering qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the E-7 assembly statement of work, ensuring strong safety, quality and schedule performance.
• Integrate and manage production and modification suppliers, providing technical oversight and ensuring the delivery of conforming products and data.
• Develop, approve and deploy daily work plans, coordinating with Industrial Engineering to review and sign off modification plans.
• Secure and allocate people, tooling and materials in line with production schedules and priorities.
• Provide technical leadership and approve technical approaches, products and processes, resolving complex production issues that require advanced judgement.
• Monitor production and supplier activity, addressing risks to the timely delivery of compliant products and associated data.
• Audit build activity to verify compliance with established Ground Operating Procedures and PRO-9 requirements when working with modification suppliers.
• Oversee final component installation, systems operation, functional testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, pre-flight and post-flight checks, certification and release to flight.
• Provide clear updates on progress, risks and mitigation plans to programme teams, senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
