Job summary

McLaren Racing is seeking a Senior Specialist, Aerodynamics Design Engineer to lead aero CAD design and development for race car performance. You will work with aerodynamicists and production teams to turn concepts into manufacturable solutions and mentor colleagues in CAD excellence.

Responsibilities include creating robust CAD models, designing surfaces and wind-tunnel parts, and driving projects to meet deadlines while upholding F1 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automotive or aeronautical engineering (or equivalent).
• Advanced 3D CAD surfacing and solid modelling experience.
• Strong ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings and releases.

Responsibilities

• Create robust parametric CAD models meeting aero specs and regulations.
• Design race car aerodynamic surfaces, wind tunnel parts and assemblies for manufacture and setup.
• Plan work, forecast lead times and deliver projects to deadlines with CAD methods.
• Lead technical problem-solving and improve CAD methodologies and best practices.
• Mentor junior colleagues and collaborate with aerodynamicists, CFD, model making, production and vehicle teams.
