Job summary

McLaren Racing is seeking a Junior Aero Design Engineer to support the design and development of race car aerodynamic surfaces, wind tunnel model parts and assemblies that contribute to on-track performance.

You will work closely with aerodynamicists, CFD engineers, model makers and wind tunnel technicians in a factory-based environment with occasional travel, delivering high-quality design solutions within demanding timescales.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
• Good working knowledge of 3D CAD and engineering drawing standards.
• Understanding FIA regulations and their impact on race car development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Formula Student experience or exposure to a high-performance engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of aerodynamic surfaces, wind tunnel model parts and assemblies using CAD tools and established design methodologies.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver development projects to challenging timescales.
• Produce and maintain high-quality engineering models and drawings to support manufacturing and testing activities.
• Contribute to technical problem-solving, troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate project progress effectively and help ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved.
