Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker / Practice Supervisor for Oxfordshire County Council. You will supervise a team, lead practice and manage complex cases within Adult Social Care, ensuring high standards of care and adherence to legislation.

The role involves holding a caseload, supervising others, and contributing to safeguarding processes and court/report writing as needed. This position supports flexible/agile working with travel across Oxfordshire.

Qualifications

• A recognised Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
• Experience of line management within a statutory or similar team environment.
• Extensive knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance relevant to Adult Social Care.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain adaptable and calm under pressure.
• A good understanding of risk management, budget management, confidentiality and data protection.
• Experience of strength-based practice is desirable, alongside additional qualifications or willingness to train.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise team members, supporting their professional development and practice.
• Undertake assessments, reviews and professional interventions and ensure support plans meet individual needs.
• Carry out safeguarding enquiries in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and local procedures.
• Hold a caseload while managing and supporting complex casework.
• Maintain and improve practice quality through case audits and supervision.
• Chair Best Interest meetings and safeguarding strategy meetings; act as Safeguarding Manager where required.
• Support timely allocation of work, duty functions, risk management and prioritisation.
• Support court applications and, where required, write or review court and mental health tribunal reports.
