Job summary
Leonardo UK Ltd seeks a Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer to join multidisciplinary teams delivering advanced defence solutions. You will design and deliver high-integrity software for safety-critical systems, collaborating closely with experienced engineers and engaging with the full software lifecycle.
The role requires around 4 years in embedded software, C++ or Ada, and openness to lab-based hardware integration with a DevOps mindset.
Qualifications
- Around 4 years of embedded software engineering experience in aerospace, defence, or other mission- or safety-critical domains.
- Ability to develop robust, high-quality software (e.g., RTCA-DO178C) using object-oriented C++ or Ada.
- Work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams and learn from senior engineers.
- Interest in automation across build, test, and deployment processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-integrity embedded software solutions.

- Contribute to development lifecycle from requirements through delivery.
