Job summary

Markel International in London is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst / Actuary to join our Specialty Actuarial team. You will provide actuarial analysis across reserving and pricing for a diverse portfolio, and you’ll work closely with underwriting, finance and capital teams.

The role offers broad exposure, flexible remote/office work, travel, and a path to accelerate your career in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to engage senior stakeholders and form effective relationships with Finance, Underwriting and Capital teams.
• Proven experience in pricing and reserving within an actuarial context.
• Experience presenting analyses to senior management.
• Experience collaborating with underwriting teams on portfolio management and decision support.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong technical and operational support to the Specialty underwriting team.
• Maintain strong relations with underwriting teams, involvement in pricing, reserving, pricing tool validation and capital model parameterisation.
• Own core processes to produce deliverables for external purposes.
• Support the wider Markel International Actuarial team.
