Job summary

Markel in London is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst/Actuary to join our growing Specialty Actuarial team. You’ll own actuarial analyses across a diverse portfolio, working closely with underwriting, finance and capital teams to inform reserving, pricing and strategic decisions.

This role offers broad exposure across geographies, with flexible hybrid working from London and occasional travel, while developing your career in a collaborative, market-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Engage with senior stakeholders across Finance, Underwriting and Capital.
• Experience in pricing and reserving with underwriting collaboration.
• Ability to present analyses to portfolio management and senior meetings.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong technical and operational support to the product team supporting the Specialty underwriting division.
• Maintain relations with underwriting teams, including pricing tool validation and reserving, and planning and capital model parameterisation.
• Own core processes to produce deliverables for external purposes.
• Support the wider Markel International Actuarial team.
