Job summary

XPS Group, a prominent UK pensions and insurance consultancy, is seeking Actuarial Analysts to join the Pensions Technical Team in Belfast. In this hybrid, permanent role you will perform technical calculations, support the wider Actuarial Team, and rapidly develop your skills through on‑the‑job training.

You will handle data analysis, run calculation software, and draft advice for clients, collaborating with multiple departments and mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of how UK pensions schemes operate and how to value pension scheme benefits for different purposes.
• Excellent planning skills with the ability to prioritise and complete work in accordance with deadlines.
• Experience with large datasets and actuarial software.
• Strong IT skills with good working knowledge of MS Office suite of products, in particular Excel.

Responsibilities

• Data analysis and manipulation.
• Running and understanding our calculation software.
• Calculating the total value of pension schemes' benefits for various purposes.
• Processing a wide variety of individual pension scheme member calculations.
• Drafting written advice to clients following our various standards.
• Regular liaising and communicating within the team and with other departments at XPS, in addition to the opportunity to work alongside some of our other specialist teams.
• Reviewing the work of our apprentices and junior team members.
• Training junior team members.
• Developing internal standard processes and identifying new ways to work more efficiently.
