Job Description

The Role

As a proactive and technical actuarial analyst, you will be working to support our growth in the Dutch Longevity market as well as our entry into and/or exploration of other markets within Continental Europe. Your technical expertise, strong communication and organisational skills will support you as you work alongside the Insurance and Deal Pricing teams, as well as Global Client Solutions team to deliver against our plan targets.

The strategic importance of our Continental Europe expansion will provide significant visibility with the Savings & Retirement Leadership Team as well as global stakeholders. Working together with the pricing teams you will support the delivery and execution of quote activity, whilst also building and sharing knowledge of these markets with the wider business.

Key responsibilities

New Business

• Supporting the delivery of profitable Dutch new business volumes in line with Business Plan.
• Supporting on quotes for other Continental Europe opportunities.
• Fulfil key functions of client management, including effective and regular communication, project management of quote activity, as well as supporting the preparation of sign-off materials and tender responses etc.
• Developing and maintaining strong internal relationships to support smooth pricing & execution processes.
• Maintaining the deal summaries spreadsheet, global client database and various bits of MI to have an organized structure to track ongoing transactions and overall progress.
• Seeking opportunities to develop enhancements to the business development processes.

Client Relationships/Network

• Assisting in building and maintaining relationships with clients, brokers and consultancies in the Dutch longevity market.
• Supporting the assessment and internal approval process for new contractual terms.
• Supporting the delivery of client/broker engagement plans and targeted client strategy

Proposition Development & Strategy

• Supporting the Continental Europe Client Solutions team in establishing a strong proposition in the Dutch market and working alongside the pricing teams to ensure delivery of competitive and timely pricing for opportunities.
• Inputting into or supporting broader strategic initiatives; for example expansion of our Dutch proposition (e.g. funded reinsurance, individual, flow) or researching other European markets to support the development of our Continental Europe strategy.
• Supporting on projects of the wider Client Solutions team.

Technical Knowledge

• Developing an in-depth understanding of the Dutch pension system and Dutch pension risk transfer market.
• Building and maintaining a thorough and up to date knowledge of our clients and of industry trends.
• Proactively building technical knowledge covering deal structuring, product features and pricing.
• Proactively share knowledge and market insights on Continental Europe with the whole Client Solutions team and wider business.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will:

• have strong and relevant technical experience in life (re)insurance, life consultancy or pension brokerage/EBC.
• be a senior actuarial analyst with relevant experience.
• have a good understanding of the UK and/or Dutch life insurance market and preferably the pension risk transfer market.
• Be highly analytical, with strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
