Job summary

Orkney Islands Council is seeking an Activities Facilitator at Smiddybrae House. The role is part-time (22.2 hours per week) on a permanent basis, with shift work across seven days and flexible working where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting older people, including those with dementia, and those who are physically frail.
• Ability to organise and lead group and one-to-one activities with enthusiasm and care.
• Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding in all activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate meaningful activities for individuals and groups with the support of colleagues.
• Deliver activities flexibly to suit varying times of day/week and shifting patterns.
• Complete tasks delegated by senior staff, ensuring social and domestic needs are met with respect and safety.
