Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting Ltd. is recruiting an Accounts Manager for a hands-on, permanent role in Bideford.

You will take responsibility for the finance and administrative function, reporting to the owners and collaborating with the management team. The ideal candidate will have SME bookkeeping or accounts management experience, with at least two years using Sage 50 or Xero, payroll knowledge (Sage Payroll preferred), and strong Excel and credit control skills.

Qualifications

• Two years’ recent experience using Sage 50 and/or Xero.
• Payroll knowledge essential, preferably Sage Payroll.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance operations and day-to-day accounting.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable and supplier payments.
• Oversee credit control and aged debt management.
• Perform bank reconciliations and cashflow monitoring.
• Prepare management accounts, monthly P&L and VAT returns.
• Oversee payroll processing and HR-related admin.
• Coordinate with accountants and external stakeholders.
