Job summary

Ballards LLP is seeking an experienced Business Services Accounts Associate to join our Worcester/Droitwich team. You’ll prepare year‑end statutory accounts, support corporation and personal tax compliance, and assist with bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts.

You’ll work across offices, review work, mentor juniors, and help manage client portfolios to tight deadlines. Part-qualified ACA/ACCA, AAT-qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE) with prior practice experience is ideal; hybrid

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing year-end accounts and supporting working papers.
• Understanding of corporation tax and/or personal tax compliance.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
• Confident written and verbal communication with a client-focused approach.
• Willingness to work across Worcester and Droitwich offices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end statutory accounts and working papers for a range of clients.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and personal tax returns for review by senior colleagues.
• Undertake bookkeeping, VAT return preparation and management accounts work as required.
• Liaise with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and ensure work progresses efficiently.
• Support managers in planning, monitoring and completing client compliance assignments to deadlines.
• Review straightforward accounts or bookkeeping work prepared by less experienced colleagues.
• Support, coach and share knowledge with trainees and junior team members.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Worcester and Droitwich offices.
