Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is partnering with a long-established local business to recruit a Senior Accounts Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with initial finance experience to establish themselves in a progressive finance function and build a long-term career.

The role is full-time and office-based, with training from the financial controller, clear development opportunities, and the potential to advance within the finance team.

Qualifications

• Ideally studying towards AAT Level 3 or 4, or ACCA/ACA/CIMA, or qualified by experience.
• Experience in double-entry bookkeeping.
• Strong numerical skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Processing sales ledger transactions, cash receipts and reconciliations.
• Maintaining and reconciling credit card and petty cash records.
• Assisting with purchase ledger activities during peak periods.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Assist with Month end processes.
• Production of management accounts as your experience within the business develops.
• Contributing to finance process improvements and future digitalisation projects.

What will the Senior Accounts Assistant role involve?

• Processing sales ledger transactions, cash receipts and associated reconciliations.
• Maintaining and reconciling company credit card and petty cash records.
• Assisting with purchase ledger activities during peak periods

• Assist with Month end processes
• Production of management accounts as your experience within the business develops
• Contributing to finance process improvements and future digitalisation projects.

Work extremely closely with the financial controller, who will provide on going training and mentorship as your role grows within the business.

Suitable Candidate for the Senior Accounts Assistant vacancy

• Ideally studying towards AAT Level 3 or Level 4 qualified, or further studies such as ACCA/ACA/CIMA or Qualified by experience.
• Previous finance experience gained with a solid understand of double entry.
• Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• A genuine desire to develop a long-term career within finance and take on increasing responsibility.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
• Comfortable working within a collaborative, office-based environment.
