About the Role

In this fast-paced and hands-on role, you'll be at the heart of our day-to-day financial operations. From managing payables and receivables to reconciliations, reporting, and payroll support, you'll gain broad exposure across the finance function. Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider team, you’ll help drive process improvements, streamline workflows, and keep everything running smoothly, accurately, and in line with compliance.

What you'll be doing:

  • Handle daily financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and payment processing.
  • Maintain accurate records using Xero and support month-end reporting and management accounts.
  • Assist with payroll data, cash flow monitoring, and ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to resolve queries.
  • Support audits, year-end processes, and provide general assistance to the finance team.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a master of organisation with a passion for making things run like clockwork. This role would suit a proactive and detail-driven Senior Accounts Assistant to play a key role in driving our day-to-day efficiency within financial operations.

You’ll need:

  • 2+ years finance experience, AAT Level 3/4 or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Detail-driven with strong accuracy and review skills.
  • Excellent communicator and team player.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise independently.
  • Trusted with confidential information.
  • Experience in care/not-for-profit sectors a plus.
  • Familiar with Xero, NetSuite, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • Knowledge of UK accounting standards and HMRC regulations
