Job summary

North East Mayoral Strategic Authority in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance & Investment Directorate. Reporting to the Lead Accountant, the role provides essential financial accounting and statutory reporting support across the organisation.

You will work on year-end closedown, statutory returns, reconciliations, treasury support, and audit evidence, with exposure to financial controls and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified or newly qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant.
• Experience in financial accounting and statutory reporting.
• Experience with reconciliations, audit or closedown.

Responsibilities

• Support the annual accounts and year-end closedown process.
• Prepare statutory financial returns.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and resolve accounting issues.
• Support treasury management and cash flow forecasting.
• Prepare working papers and audit evidence.
• Support financial controls and continuous improvement.
