Job summary

Sellick Partnership is representing a busy public sector finance team seeking a Senior Accountant (Interim Local Authority) to provide professional financial support across services. You will work with budget managers and senior stakeholders to lead on budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

The role focuses on delivering accurate financial information, advising on financial strategy, and supporting year-end activities to strengthen financial management within the organisation.

Qualifications

• CCAB, AAT or equivalent professional qualification with relevant experience.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experience.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a busy finance team, providing professional financial support across a range of services.

Working closely with budget managers and senior stakeholders, you will lead on budget monitoring, forecasting, financial reporting and year-end activities. You will provide expert financial advice, support strategic decision-making and help ensure effective financial management across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

The Ideal Candidate:

• CCAB qualified, AAT qualified or equivalent relevant experience

• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
• Experience working within a complex finance environment
• Local government finance experience is desirable
