Job summary

Huntress is recruiting a Senior Accountant (Property & Fixed Assets) in Medway for a permanent, hybrid role. You will lead development finance and fixed asset functions, delivering robust financial reporting and strategic insight.

You will manage asset reconciliations, capital budgeting, depreciation forecasting, and provide board-level information, while developing asset policies and guiding a junior team member.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience managing a development finance function in a regulated environment.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report development programme performance, advising on risk and return.
• Identify accounting, VAT and tax implications for schemes at feasibility and appraisal stages.
• Prepare monthly fixed asset reconciliations and lead year-end processes.
• Set capital budgets, forecast depreciation and property sales, analyse variances.
• Manage cash flows and advise on loan drawdown requirements.
• Oversee finances of a subsidiary company.
• Develop fixed asset policies and lead a team member.
• Support the board with clear, accurate information.

Salary: £65,000-£71,000

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full time, hybrid

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Accountant to lead their development finance and fixed asset function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the development programme, and advising on risk and return
• Identifying accounting, VAT and tax implications for schemes at feasibility and appraisal stage
• Preparing the monthly fixed asset reconciliation and leading the year-end process
• Setting capital budgets, forecasting depreciation and property sales, and analysing variances
• Managing cash flows and advising on loan drawdown requirements
• Overseeing the finances of a subsidiary company
• Developing fixed asset policies and procedures, and leading a team member
• Supporting the board and committees with clear, accurate information

Skills & Experience Required:

• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience managing a development finance function in a regulated environment
• Sound commercial awareness and advanced Excel skills
• Strong communicator, able to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance colleagues
