Job summary

Orka Financial Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Accountant to be the no.2 to the owner, take ownership of a client portfolio, and be supported by a small team of bookkeepers.

The role suits ACA/ACCA/CTA with a background in an accountancy practice and offers 35 hours a week, with potential discussion to reduce to 25 hours. You will manage day-to-day accounting and tax for clients using Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage Online.

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACA/CTA qualified with a background in accountancy practice.
• Experience managing client portfolios and delivering year-end statutory accounts.
• Strong organisational and process-improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting and tax issues for assigned clients, including annual accounts and tax returns.
• Support bookkeepers with tax treatment and assist team with complex tasks.
• Develop documented processes with the team and cover capacity gaps as needed.
• Oversee AML checks and client onboarding during transitions.
• Suggest system enhancements and implement improvements.
