Job summary

BC Financial Search Ltd is recruiting for a well-established independent accountancy practice in Altrincham to hire a qualified accountant to manage their own portfolio of clients. You will handle accounts work from start to finish, including year-end accounts, corporation tax computations, VAT returns, and some payroll; opportunity to work across accounts, tax, bookkeeping and advisory.

The role offers a salary in the region of £40,000 to £60,000, flexible working, and a friendly, supportive

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Experience in an accountancy practice.
• Capable of completing accounts from start to finish.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
• Comfortable dealing with owner-managed businesses.
• Familiar with corporation tax, VAT and general practice work.
• Organised and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Able to work independently within a small team.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own portfolio of clients.
• Prepare year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Manage accounts assignments from bookkeeping to completion.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and returns.
• Prepare personal tax returns where required.
• Review bookkeeping and accounting records.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Assist clients with bookkeeping queries and general accounting matters.
• Getting involved with payroll work where required.
• Liaise with clients and become a trusted point of contact.
• Manage deadlines and ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
• Support junior members of staff where appropriate.
• Work with Partners on more complex client matters and ad hoc projects.
