Job summary

Outsource UK is recruiting a Senior Accountant to join our Preston practice. This role offers hybrid working, with core office hours Monday to Friday, and exposure to a varied client portfolio including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

You will produce year-end accounts, tax computations, VAT returns, and mentor junior team members while liaising with clients and managers. ACA/ACCA or equivalent is preferred; strong technical knowledge and communication are essential for

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, currently studying, or qualified by experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge across a range of client types.
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero and IRIS.

Responsibilities

• Produce year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in line with relevant accounting standards
• Prepare draft corporation tax computations and supporting schedules
• Prepare schedules for tax returns
• Complete VAT returns and support Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide ongoing support
• Review work completed by junior team members
• Assist with the development and mentoring of junior staff
• Support managers with departmental responsibilities and client delivery
• Assist in managing outsourced accounting functions where required
• Deliver software training and support to clients
• Ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time, and within budget
