Job summary

Outsource UK is recruiting an Accounts Senior in Preston to join a growing accountancy practice. Hybrid working with core office hours, Mon–Fri.

You will own a varied client portfolio and develop junior team members while delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services. You’ll collaborate with managers and partners, strengthening client relationships across sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, currently studying, or qualified by experience.
• Solid experience within an accountancy practice environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge across a range of client types.
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero and IRIS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in line with relevant accounting standards.
• Prepare draft corporation tax computations and supporting schedules.
• Prepare schedules for tax returns.
• Complete VAT returns and support Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide ongoing support.
• Review work completed by junior team members.
• Assist with the development and mentoring of junior staff.
• Support managers with departmental responsibilities and client delivery.
• Assist in managing outsourced accounting functions where required.
• Deliver software training and support to clients.
• Ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.

Outsource UK are recruiting for an Accounts Senior to join a growing and well-established accountancy practice in Preston. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Working closely with managers, partners, and clients, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio while supporting the development of junior team members. The role offers exposure to a broad range of clients and the opportunity to further develop your technical and client-facing skills within a busy general practice setting.

The Role As an Accounts Senior, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
