Job summary

Outsource is seeking an Accounts Senior in Preston to join a growing accountancy practice. You will work hybrid, liaising with managers, partners, and clients, and lead a varied portfolio while mentoring junior staff.

The role delivers high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services to sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, with exposure to diverse client types and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, currently studying, or qualified by experience.
• Solid experience within an accountancy practice environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge across a range of client types.
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero and IRIS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in line with relevant accounting standards.
• Prepare draft corporation tax computations and supporting schedules.
• Prepare schedules for tax returns.
• Complete VAT returns and support Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide ongoing support.
• Review work completed by junior team members.
• Assist with the development and mentoring of junior staff.
• Support managers with departmental responsibilities and client delivery.
• Assist in managing outsourced accounting functions where required.
• Deliver software training and support to clients.
• Ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.
