Job summary

Reed is partnering with a modern, expanding independent general practice firm to recruit a Senior Accountant. The role involves preparing statutory accounts, managing client relationships, and supporting junior staff while assisting with tax and VAT tasks.

The successful candidate will have UK accounting experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to career development in finance. Hybrid working, study support, and flexible hours are offered to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience working to UK regulations and standards in an accountancy firm.
• Effective communication, organisational and technical skills.
• Open to fully qualified or qualified by experience candidates.

Responsibilities

• Compliance - preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies; lead on draft stage; assist with management accounts.
• Client management - liaise with stakeholders, communicate clearly and maintain relationships.
• Involvement - support and advise Assistant Accountants and Trainees, review entry level work and provide feedback.
• Tax - assist senior team members with corporate tax calculations and personal tax returns.
• VAT - finalising and revising VAT returns; bookkeeping as required.
