Job summary

Accountancy Action is assisting an SME near Hertford to recruit a Senior Accountant/Financial Controller. The role will support the Finance Director across the finance team, with 2 direct reports and accountability for management accounts, reporting and commercial decision-making.

The ideal candidate will hold ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications, bring strong Excel modelling skills and a track record of owning finance functions.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with proven financial experience.
• Experience in reporting to a Finance Director.
• Experience in managing a finance function.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of management accounts, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Production of accurate, timely financial reporting to support commercial decision-making.
• Building financial models and analysis in Excel.
• Identifying financial and operational risks within the business.
• Assisting with strategic and commercial projects.
• Liaising with budget holders and non-finance stakeholders across the business.
• Continually reviewing and improving financial processes and controls.
