Job summary

Baltic Recruitment are recruiting for a Permanent and Experienced Accountant for a client in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The role requires a qualified accountant with tax knowledge to manage a sizeable client portfolio and lead the accounting team.

You will review statutory accounts and tax work, provide commercial insight, and drive improvements across the practice. ACA/ACCA or equivalent and strong Excel/cloud skills are essential, with some home-working flexibility.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with strong tax knowledge.
• Experience reviewing statutory accounts and tax work.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
• Proven leadership or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for a portfolio of clients and build long-term relationships.
• Review financial statements and provide commercial insight to clients.
• Review accounts, tax returns, and work prepared by the accounts team.
• Lead UK-based accounting staff and collaborate with cross-office teams.
• Support business development and ensure timely billing and profitability.
