Job summary

Baltic Recruitment Services Ltd is recruiting for a Practice Manager/Accountant in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The role can be full time or part time, with a portfolio of small to medium clients, offering leadership and client relationship management.

You will review financial statements, advise on accounting and taxation, manage billing and profitability, and lead the UK team while coordinating with the India shared services centre. Salary up to £45,000 DOE, office-based with potential WFH 1-2 days.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification or qualified by experience.
• Strong taxation knowledge with practical experience.
• Experience reviewing statutory accounts and tax work.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
• Previous team leadership or management experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and cloud accounting software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients.
• Review accounts, tax returns, and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure timely billing, fee collection, and portfolio profitability.
• Lead UK accounting staff and coordinate with the India-based shared services team.
• Support business development and win new client opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and CPD.
