Job summary

Atomic Practice Recruitment is seeking a Senior Accountant for a North London practice. The role involves managing client records in Xero/Iris, preparing year-end accounts under FRS standards and providing tax guidance. You will lead month-end closes, draft management and cash flow reports, and mentor junior staff.

The ideal candidate is ACA/ACCA qualified or QBE with 3–4 years in practice, highly organised, and able to train colleagues while maintaining excellent client service.

Qualifications

• Fully ACA/ACCA qualified OR QBE with 3-4 years post-qualification experience within practice.
• Highly organised, proactive and a self-starter with strong communication.
• Ability to train and mentor junior staff and manage client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client records using Xero and QuickBooks.
• Process transactions, post journals and perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare management accounts and month end reconciliations.
• Draft year end accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105, with review.
• Hold client meetings to discuss tax and accounting implications.
• Prepare VAT returns and tax computations; assist with cash flow statements.
