Job summary

Curtis Recruitment Limited in the UK is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its independent accountancy firm. The role involves managing a varied client portfolio of OMBs with minimal supervision and acting as the first point of contact for client queries.

Although advertised as a Senior Accountant, this is essentially a Client Manager position with duties including preparation and filing of limited company accounts, reviewing and signing off work, preparing corporation and personal tax returns

Job description

An independent accountancy firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its friendly team. The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified with extensive, all round accountancy experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.

The role will entail taking responsibility for a varied client portfolio of OMBs with minimal supervision, managing the relationships with clients in a highly professional manner and being the first point of contact for client queries.

Whilst advertised as a Senior Accountant role, this is essentially a Client Manager position.

As Senior Accountant managing a portfolio of clients, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation and filing of limited company accounts in to accounting standards
• Reviewing and signing off work completed by other team members
• Preparation and filing corporation and personal tax returns, and VAT
• Leading client meetings and providing commercially focused advice
• Managing assignments from planning through to completion
• Supporting and actively assisting in the development of junior team members
• Maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring deadlines are met
• Working closely with the partners and wider management team

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the confidence to lead client meetings
• Have the desire and ability to nurture and support less experienced team members
