Job summary

Responsibilities

• Support partners and managers in providing quality accounting and business services to a varied client portfolio.
• Plan assignments and oversee the work of junior staff where appropriate.
• Prepare final accounts and review junior work for accuracy and quality.
• Compute business tax and draft corporate tax returns.
• Ensure all statutory returns are filed on time.
• Plan and monitor own workflow and manage accounts work finances.
• Contribute to fee quotes and obtain manager/partner approval as required.
• Maintain regular client contact by phone, email, and in person as a day-to-day contact.
• Coach trainees and junior staff; provide feedback and guidance.
• Undertake ad hoc projects as requested by managers/partners.

We are recruiting for an Accounts & Business Services Senior on behalf of a well-established accountancy firm to contribute to the firm's provision of a range of accounting, business services, tax and audit services to a varied client portfolio.

The ideal candidate will be qualified ACCA or ACA with significant experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.

As Accounts & Business Services Senior your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting partners and managers in providing quality accounting and business services to a varied client portfolio
• Planning assignments and overseeing the work of junior staff if/as appropriate
• Preparing final accounts for clients - review accounts work of junior team members to ensure accuracy and quality
• Business tax computations and draft corporate tax returns for review
• Ensure all statutory returns are completed and filed on time
• Planning and monitoring own workflow, and the effective financial management, of accounts work
• Have input to fee quotes and to prepare for manager/partner approval as required
• Build and maintain regular contact with clients by telephone, email, letter and in person, acting as a key day-to-day point of contact
• Supervise, coach and support the development of trainees and junior staff, providing constructive feedback and guidance where required
• To undertake any ad hoc projects as requested by the managers/partners

A good working knowledge of limited companies, sole traders, partnerships and charities is desirable, together with experience of accounts preparation, audit experience, corporation tax and management of client relationships.
