Audit and Accounts Manager

Our client is an established accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accountant to join their friendly Nottingham team.

They offer a great working environment, flexible hours, WFH options, and study support for ACA/ACCA and AAT qualifications.

They are looking for a qualified accountant with well-rounded experience who is eager to develop their skills and career in a growing office.

The role primarily focuses on delivering audit, financial reporting, and related services to their expanding medium/large corporate client base.

It also provides exposure to all aspects of general practice, including personal and corporate tax, management reporting, and other services.

As part of a team, you will be responsible for planning and reviewing audits and supervising junior staff within the audit team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assisting the audit partner in the planning phase.
2. Completing audit files for partner review, supervising and reviewing junior staff work.
3. Dealing directly with clients to resolve technical issues, including audit adjustments.
4. Preparing client statutory accounts under FRS102, including UK and international group consolidations.
5. Drafting corporate tax computations for review by the tax manager.
6. Attending client finalisation meetings with the audit partner.

Who We're Looking For

Skills

• Proven double entry bookkeeping skills.
• Basic knowledge of corporation tax computations, PAYE, VAT.
• Up-to-date technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Client-focused and commercially aware, with the ability to meet deadlines.
