Job summary

ASEE Group is seeking a Tax Manager to lead tax compliance across UK and international jurisdictions. You will oversee tax returns, payroll tax processes, VAT, and coordination with regional advisors, while deputising for the Group Finance Manager in its absence.

The role requires 3–5 years of tax experience, professional qualifications (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CTA), and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CTA with relevant tax experience.
• 3–5 years tax experience.
• Experience in a busy computerised finance function/practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax leadership to the directors and senior management team.
• Set up strong internal controls and reporting processes for robust tax procedures.
• Prepare tax returns in jurisdictions the company operates in.
• Prepare tax numbers for inclusion in the financial statements.
• Ensure processes for payroll tax calculation for posted workers are effective.
• Oversee supplier onboarding to avoid conflicts between sub-contractors and employees.
• Oversee sub-contractor withholding tax obligations.
• Reconcile tax balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure VAT rates are charged correctly and VAT is fully recoverable.
• Maintain relationships with regional tax advisors.
• Provide technical tax guidance to senior managers and promote tax awareness.
• Participate in monthly management accounts and Board pack reviews.
• Deputise for the Group Finance Manager.
• Fulfil other tasks as requested by GFM/directors.

Job description

The Tax Manager is responsible for ensuring that the ASEE Group is Tax compliant in all jurisdictions in which it operates (UK/IE/BE/NL/DE/ES/SE/FI), oversee all tax activities in the group and ensure that all tax returns are accurately prepared and filed in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tax leadership to the directors and senior management team.
• Responsible for setting strong internal controls and reporting processes to ensure robust tax procedures are in place.
• Preparation of tax returns in jurisdictions that the company operates in.
• Prepare tax number for inclusion in the financial statements
• Ensure effective processes are in place facilitate the calculation of payroll taxes for posted workers
• Manage onboarding of supplier to ensure there are no conflicts in relation to sub‑contractor v employee
• Oversight of the deduction of sub‑contractor withholding taxes.
• Reconciliation of tax balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure VAT rates are charged correctly and that VAT is fully recovered
• Maintaining relationships with tax advisors in different regions where the group has operations
• Provide technical advice and guidance to senior managers and promote tax awareness
• Involved in the monthly review of Management accounts and Board pack
• Deputize for the Group Finance Manager
• Any other task that may be requested by the GFM or the directors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CTA
• 3‑5 years tax experience
• Experience in a busy computerised finance function/ practice.
