Accounts Senior – Practice | £45,000 - £55,000 | Winchmore Hill, North London

A well-established, medium-sized accountancy practice in Winchmore Hill, North London is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a technically demanding, hands-on role within a supportive yet fast-paced environment.

About the Firm:

• Long-standing, reputable practice with 2–3 partners and approx. 40 staff
• Broad and diverse client base, including medium and larger owner-managed businesses
• Friendly, professional working culture with strong focus on technical excellence

The Role:

Reporting into a highly experienced Accounts Senior, this is a technically focused position where you will be expected to work independently, taking ownership of the full accounts process from start to finish. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing final accounts with full working papers
• Balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
• Preparing corporation tax computations
• Liaising directly with clients and resolving queries
• Analytical reviews and general client reporting
• Collaborating with outsourcing teams and meeting reporting deadlines

Who We’re Looking For:

• ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
• Extensive technical knowledge of accounts preparation – this is not a training role; you will need to hit the ground running
• Solid experience preparing accounts for medium-sized businesses, not just sole traders or micro entities
• Strong client communication skills and ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision
• Advanced Excel skills are essential
• Experience using IRIS, VT+, Xero, and Sage is desirable (QuickBooks knowledge is a bonus)

Ideal Background:

• Experience in a practice of similar size (2–3 partners, 30–50 staff)
• Candidates from very small practices may lack the technical exposure required
• Candidates from large national firms may lack the broad experience needed for this more generalist role
