Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in an accountancy practice environment.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients.
• Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.
• Advanced understanding of Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE.
• Experience supervising a team.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients across sectors.
• Conduct client meetings (virtual and face-to-face).
• Prepare and complete statutory annual accounts.
• Review and sign off work by junior staff.
• Provide tax planning and advisory support; handle self-assessment returns.
• Manage HMRC enquiries, audits and investigations.
• Advise clients on income tax, corporation tax, VAT and PAYE.
• Monitor performance and analyse KPI data.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
• Participate in management meetings and support business objectives.

Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Accountant to join their growing team in a client-facing position. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional looking to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of SME clients whilst providing technical accounting and tax expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing client relationships, reviewing technical work, supporting team development, and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service across a varied client base.

The Role

As a Qualified Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing work completed by junior team members, and delivering expert accounting and taxation advice. You will work closely with management whilst supporting both clients and colleagues across a broad range of accounting matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a range of sectors.
• Conducting client meetings both virtually and face-to-face.
• Preparation and completion of statutory annual accounts.
• Reviewing and signing off work completed by junior team members.

About You
