A well-established, independent chartered practice near Ilkeston is looking for a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant to join their growing team. With a loyal client base and a strong local reputation, the firm offers a friendly, stable working environment and the opportunity to take ownership of client relationships.

Part Qualified candidates will be considered too, for a Semi Senior/Senior role depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a mixed portfolio of clients across various industries
• Prepare and review statutory accounts, CT600s, VAT returns, and management accounts
• Liaise directly with clients and HMRC on queries and filings
• Supervise and support junior team members
• Assist partners with ad hoc work, reporting to them
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and deadlines

Ideal Candidate:

• ACA or ACCA qualified, Part Qualified considered also
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in UK accountancy practice
• Comfortable managing deadlines and reviewing work
• Strong communication and client relationship skills
• Familiar with accounting systems (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
